Project Overview

The Damj Award brought the Abu Dhabi Excellence Award for People of Determination Inclusion into a fully realized physical environment, combining a formal ceremony setting with curated exhibition and visitor engagement zones. Based on the provided visuals, Tarweej delivered a bilingual, brand-led venue experience centered on inclusion, accessibility, and meaningful public interaction.

Set in Abu Dhabi, the project brought together stage production, scenic design, branded environments, visitor circulation, and interactive content zones within one coordinated space. As a result, Tarweej translated the award’s identity into an experience that felt calm, dignified, and highly organized.

What Tarweej Delivered

Tarweej delivered an integrated event environment designed to support both ceremony and exploration, including:

  • Main stage with large-format digital backdrop
  • Curved scenic walls and branded architectural features
  • Registration and arrival area
  • Audience seating and VIP lounge zones
  • Interactive display areas with touchscreen kiosks
  • Meeting and discussion room fit-out
  • Large-scale bilingual banners and wall graphics
  • Wayfinding, storytelling panels, and thematic messaging
  • Furniture, finishes, and on-site spatial coordination

Design Approach

The design language balanced institutional clarity with a welcoming visitor experience. A refined purple-and-white palette, soft curves, translucent structures, and large-format branding created a cohesive visual identity across the venue. In addition, the planning separated formal, interactive, and lounge functions clearly, so each area supported the wider narrative without feeling disconnected

Visitor Experience

Visitor movement appears to have been carefully structured from entry to registration, then into exhibition, lounge, and auditorium zones. This helped the environment feel open and intuitive despite its scale. Moreover, the combination of interactive screens, storytelling graphics, seating clusters, and accessible circulation points created an experience that encouraged both engagement and comfort.

Challenges & Solutions

One of the key challenges was designing a venue experience that supported multiple functions while remaining clear, welcoming, and accessible for People of Determination. The project brought together a formal ceremony stage, interactive exhibition zones, registration, lounges, and meeting areas, each with different operational needs. Tarweej addressed this complexity through disciplined spatial planning, intuitive circulation, clear bilingual communication, and a calm, consistent design language. As a result, the environment felt unified, dignified, and easier to navigate for all attendees.

Production & Execution

Tarweej coordinated design, fabrication, installation, graphic application, and technical staging as one integrated delivery process. From suspended banners and scenic walls to registration counters and meeting spaces, the execution reflects careful material control and strong site coordination. The result is a clean, consistent finish across the full event lifecycle, aligned with Tarweej’s end-to-end delivery approach and brand standard.

Results & Impact

The final environment positioned the Damj Award as a clear, inclusive, and professionally managed experience that honored People of Determination and the wider conversation around inclusion in Abu Dhabi. It demonstrated Tarweej’s ability to deliver event environments that bring together ceremony, storytelling, interaction, and operational control within one cohesive setting. In addition, the project reflected Tarweej’s strength in translating institutional goals into physical experiences that feel dignified, accessible, and well executed.
